Congratulations.
Little girls are amazing - by the time they are 3-4 years old they have everyone figured out and pretty much run the place. They are a joy.

Re: My new survivalist!

Thanks everyone. Guess y'all can tell I'm showing off!

Anyway, lots of hair. Mom and baby coming home today. Dad (my son), was with her the whole time. He was pretty tired too. Grandma stayed the night last night. I got to hold her yesterday. Waiting now for them to come home so I can hold her some more.

Oh, and she does have some of my features - or inherited looks. However, form my prospective she is much more beautiful than I was as a baby. Must be her gender. BTW, I do not look that much like the picture in my avatar.

QWAk,Lt. Dan,The conventional thing to say is :congrats: congradulation -- and I do feel that for YOU, but I also feel aprehencive because of the current world your "New Survivor" is in or will be facing her first fiew years.

Bob Dylan had a line in his "Masters of WAR" song -- "Afraid to bring children in to THIS world" and I must admit it HAUNTS ME.

Hopfully by the time she is old enough to understand -- the TRANSISITION will have suficiently happened so SHE will only remember LOVE and COMPASSION and the world WE KNEW will be HISTORY :yes:that people REMEMBER as "What NOT to DO and HOW to be to each other!:36_3_13:

A new BEGINING and a new UNDERSTANDING -- would be MY wish for HER and ALL the SURVIVORS!:shine:

Dan -

Having had my first one - a boy - hit the dirt a little more than a year ago,

My biggest adjustment (other than me) was having

My wife go into full and hyper grandmother mode!

Wow boy howdy.

Enjoy the ride.

It was one of my granddaughters' second birthday yesterday. She had been up & awake since 05:05hrs when I went round there at 6pm. She demanded a cuddle and within about three minutes was asleep on my shoulder (as they do to annoy the parents!).

Before I laid her down I was thinking along the lines of wondering how things will turn out for her. Her Dad lost his job just before Christmas and things look to be very bleak in England for several years, even if TS doesn't hit TF.

But peeps adapt to circumstances and if you are prepared to put in some effort you are always going to be better off than the idle.

A real survivalist will actually wash the things himself and not lie in his hammock and leave the job to his survivalist wife!

Re: My new survivalist!

Thanks again folks. She was just hours old when I took that picture. I came home and downloaded it to my computers, saved it to my wallpaper folder and now using it for background picture on both computers. I try to stop in to my son's house every day just to hold her for a while, when I can.
